Welcome to week 4 of Micro UX: Feminist Space. In this blog I have presented our documentation of the development of our concept, creating low-fi versions of our prototype, and finally our mid-term presentation of the utilization of our feminist space.

- Roadmap -

- Improving the concept -

We started by sketching out different ways in which we could construct a interactive third space that would encourage community engagement. By incorporating seats, music, light, and sound we wanted to create a playful interaction among the users of our feminist space.

Through our concept, we encourage individuals to interact with their surroundings, express themselves, and promote rest and play.

- Creating the prototype -

After finalizing the concept (which might be susceptible to more changes in the future) we started with developing the prototype. We created 4 cubes and attached touch sensors to it.

The touch sensors were connected to an Arduino, which was also connected to 4 led placed strategically in the cubes. When the sensors were touched the cubes light up playing different versions of ambient music in each cube.

- Presentation -

In our presentation, we delved into the concept we created and into the extensive research conducted on the topic and examined the findings from various angles. We aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject by highlighting the key points and discussing the implications of the results. Through this analysis, we were able to identify trends, correlations, and potential future directions for further investigation. By synthesizing the collective knowledge, our goal was to offer valuable insights and contribute to the ongoing conversation surrounding this area of study. The presentation served as a platform for sharing our findings, introducing our prototype, and inspiring further dialogue on how we could enhance the design of our feminist space.

- Evaluation & Feedback -

Finishing the final week, our prototype was presented. We deliberated about what we did in our project thus far. After seeing the demonstration the class came up with the following insights to aid us with our concept and design further down the road: 1. The concept was innovative. 2. The direction was encouraging as it put emphasis on rest and play. 3. The multiple uses of the cubes could enhance the experience of the users.

- Reflection -

After the raging reviews of our concept during the feedback process, we got the assurance that we could carry our concept forward and further our research on this topic. We decided to delve straight into the intensive building phase where we explore the materials and plan out the construction of our build while making it cost-effective. We decided to explore more on the topic by organizing a few activities and experiments to leave no stone unturned while designing the feminist space.
